The different causes and reasons that motivated student desertion were analyzed. For this study, zone 8 of the city of Guayaquil, in Ecuador, was considered, and this qualitative-quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental - cross-sectional design of a descriptive and explanatory type, using a survey and interview as instruments.
