Abstract

The proposal presented in the study seeks to adjust the range traditionally used for the application of torque in the capping process in carbonated beverages. It has been possible to identify, through the use of indicators and statistical tests, that the production process was indeed out of control. An experimental design by blocks was applied in order to identify the main effect of the new range, which has been proposed by the research, within the cappers. Through the use of a linear regression model and Dummy-type control variables, which describe specific characteristics of each of the capping machines, the clean, or also considered net, effect has been achieved on each of the capping machines and the torque applied to them. Thus decreasing the variability present in the capping process in the production of carbonated beverages.
