Abstract

The present work focuses on the evaluation of energy efficiency in a company dedicated to the processing of plastic sleeves located in the city of Quito, due to irregularities in electrical circuits and overloading in transformers. The study is based on the evaluation and subsequent proposal for the improvement of the energy situation in the company dedicated to plastics processing RT RECICLART S.A. It is intended to guide the decisions that the manager could make with respect to the investment necessary for the implementation of new equipment that can contribute to improve working conditions within the electrical installations of the same. For this, information was collected both at primary and secondary level, the main object that served for data collection was a network analyzer connected to the transformer banks with which the entity has; the first one with a capacity of 125kVA and the second one of 100kVA, giving as a result of this previous analysis that the two transformers are overloaded. In addition, there are low voltage levels for which it is recommended the evaluation of the resizing of transformers, conductors and adequate protection system, which mitigate the problems that are in the processing plant.
