Resumen

Este artículo analiza la ética en la gobernanza de las universidades públicas en diversos contextos geográficos. Mediante una revisión sistemática conforme al protocolo PRISMA, se identificaron 318 registros iniciales, de los cuales 20 estudios cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Los resultados muestran que la ética es concebida no solo como un marco normativo formal, sino como un soporte cultural e institucional que articula el liderazgo, la transparencia, la rendición de cuentas y la responsabilidad social en los modelos de gobernanza universitaria. Sin embargo, persiste una disonancia significativa entre los discursos estratégicos y su implementación práctica en los procesos de decisión y administrativos.  Se concluye que la ética constituye un eje estructural de legitimidad y coherencia organizacional, cuya institucionalización efectiva exige su materialización consistente en las prácticas de gobernanza universitaria.
