Resumen
El objetivo de esta revisión fue analizar el rol que cumple el ecoturismo en el Perú, enfatizando en los beneficios que trae a la diversidad ecológica y cultural de los poblados en los cuales se desarrolla, su situación actual luego de la pandemia COVID-19 y sus perspectivas a futuro. Por ello, se realizó una búsqueda bibliométrica en las bases de datos Scopus y Scielo, que permitió seleccionar artículos que fueron analizados a detalle. El análisis correspondiente permitió determinar que el ecoturismo ha traído beneficios sociales y económicos para el Perú e incentiva el cuidado del medio ambiente y la conservación de especies y de las culturas humanas. Asimismo, tras la pandemia COVID-19, el ecoturismo ha ganado el interés de los turistas, por lo que su recuperación se observa favorable; no obstante, deben superarse los retos ocasionados por la presencia del ser humano, como la contaminación ambiental y su afectación a las especies animales.
