Resumen
La obesidad es un problema de salud pública visible que sigue siendo un tema descuidado. Los medios de comunicación pueden promover estilos de vida saludables, sin embargo, pueden convertirse en medios de desinformación. El objetivo del estudio fue realizar un análisis bibliométrico sobre la cobertura de la obesidad en los medios de comunicación y redes sociales, a través de la búsqueda de información científica en la Web of Science, donde se obtuvo 1191 artículos de acceso abierto, que fueron analizados en el software VosViewer. Se observó que existe un aumento de publicaciones científicas con respecto a la obesidad en los últimos años. Se resalta la importancia de la actividad física, prevención e influencia de las redes sociales. Sin embargo, existen brechas en la investigación, especialmente en la comunicación en medios y redes sociales para prevenir la obesidad. Se requiere un enfoque multidisciplinario, involucrando a medios, gobiernos y profesionales de salud.
