Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a social phenomenon that induces companies to seek a common benefit. The Pyramid of the RS of Carroll relates organizations to sustainable development through three dimensions: 1) the economic dimension, which analyzes the necessary resources and their effective administration, 2) The social dimension, which promotes community improvement and 3) the environmental dimension that manages the preservation of the environment to rationally exploit limited resources. The objective of the research is to design an instrument that allows the measurement of sustainable development behavior based on social responsibility in a banana industrial context. The methodology used is theoretical and empirical in nature with methods: hypothetical-deductive and information gathering respectively, the study uses the survey technique and a statistical (factor analysis)
of item reduction. The study applies a census to the population of banana companies in the sector under study. The results show that the instrument has reliability and validity. The data corroborate the behavior described in the theory since the items are classified into 3 factors coinciding with the base model.
