Abstract

In the present work, antibiotic therapy as an alternative in the treatment of diseases is reviewed from a historical perspective, taking into account the amplitude of cataloged bacteria that produce infectious processes that require this type of intervention. The topic is approached with a documentary research paradigm of exploratory scope, since it considers the different visions that are generated around antibiotic therapy during different times, establishing relationships with infectious diseases typical of the social environments that have passed in each one. This means that it is considered a review of the scientific capacity of medical disciplines to adapt and generate knowledge, techniques and treatment schemes in light of the variability of situations that arise. In this way, the results obtained show that the bacteriological spectrum influences the creation and implementation of antibiotic therapies, generating as a fundamental conclusion that the health sciences face a permanent challenge in the face of the bacteriological spectrum, which is increasing and more resistant.

Keywords: antibiotic therapy, bacteriological spectrum, bacteria, pharmacotherapy.
