Abstract

The World Health Organization considers malnutrition as one of the most important health problems worldwide and Ecuador does not escape this reality, since it was determined through the World Food Program in Latin America, which is the fourth country that has high rates of child malnutrition. That is why the objective is to establish how malnutrition affects the learning of the motor system of children between 2 and 3 years of age, taking the infants of Mis Primeras Huellas as a case study. Methodologically, the research design is mixed, since to establish the causes of child malnutrition, a field research design was made with the application of a survey to the parents of infants who live in the center and who present a table of malnutrition, and to determine the consequences of malnutrition in the little ones of the institution, a documentary research design was carried out, supported by the records collected by the health center. Among the results, there is a lack of knowledge on the part of parents about the good nutrition of their children, as well as the need to be guided about the application of a balanced diet that helps to mitigate and / or eliminate malnutrition. As an added value, workshops were held for the mothers of the children of the center, for the adequate feeding of their children.
