Abstract
This study evaluates student perceptions of strategic planning at higher technological education institutions (IEST) in the Tumbes region. Using a quantitative-descriptive approach, 387 studentswere surveyed using a 13-item Likert-type questionnaire (α = 0.930). The dimensions of diagnosis, formulation, implementation, and evaluation were analyzed. The results show a predominant trend toward a high level of strategic planning, highlighting strengths in dimensions such as formulation and evaluation, evidencing the connection between institutional objectives and professional development, in addition to the usefulness of evaluation in improving educational services and teacher performance. However, gaps are identified in dimensions such as diagnosis and implementation, attributable to external threats and poor communication in decision-making. It is concluded that comprehensive strategic planning, with greater student participation and robust evaluation systems, is crucial for institutional development and the improvement of regional demands.
