Abstract

This study describes the configuration and evolution of research on equity, environmental justice, and governance of urban green spaces. A bibliometric review of documents indexed in Scopus and SciELO was conducted, complemented by descriptive analysis and science mapping with bibliometrix and VOSviewer. The findings show accelerated growth and a concentration of scientific output in countries with high research capacity. The thematic structure links themes of accessibility and spatial measurement with others concerning environmental justice, governance, and green gentrification. Alongside distribution-oriented approaches, the field includes perspectives that consider participation, recognition, and policy effects. The limited Latin American presence constitutes a relevant geographic gap and highlights the need for broader comparative research across diverse urban contexts.
