Abstract

The objective of the present investigation is to know the benefits and influence that chess offers as a playful game in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective development of the individual from his childhood, until reaching the macro level, through his contribution in the solution of related problems with the priority areas of a country. As for the research methodology used, it is of a descriptive level of documentary type, framed in the philosophical principles of hermeneutics. Among the most relevant results is the identification of more than 20 benefits that a child obtains from chess practice from the earliest age. In the case of infants suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder-ADHD, chess and its continuous practice, makes the dose provided for its control considerably decreased in the most severe cases and is completely eliminated in the cases milder and moderate. On the other hand, the academic performance of schoolchildren increases, especially in the area of mathematics and literacy processes, in turn they reduce the crime rate, drug addictions other types of crimes resulting from leisure.
